The basic idea
A football draft game asks one simple question: how good a team can you build? Instead of managing a real club over many seasons, you assemble a single eleven by drafting players one pick at a time, then see how far that team can go. The whole experience is compressed into a few minutes — the fun is in the choices, not in grinding through menus.
How drafting works
Drafting means building your team by selecting players in turn from a shared pool. When you pick a player, they are yours and they leave the pool, so nobody — and no later pick of your own — can take them again. That single rule is what makes drafting interesting: every choice is a trade-off between taking the best option available now and waiting for something you need more. Do you grab the star striker on offer, or take the solid goalkeeper because keepers are running out?
Why it is so addictive
Three things make the genre stick. First, variety: because the players on offer differ every time, no two drafts are the same, so there is always a reason to play again. Second, short sessions: a full run takes minutes, which makes "one more" easy to justify. Third, ownership: the team is yours, assembled from your decisions, so a win feels earned and a loss feels like something you can fix next time with a smarter draft.
